Course Syllabus
In this lesson, Daniel Lelchuk introduces the Sharon Sparrow Audition Course and puts it into context for an audience of cellists.
Sharon Sparrow shares all the tools we need to train for an audition or performance. Her three-part approach, Practice, Mental Training, and Event Training & Mock Auditions set us up with a framework to play our best in performance.
Practice is the first step of Sharon Sparrow’s triathlon approach to audition preparation. She guides us through the most effective ways to practice and train for an audition or performance including building a “naughty list” and playing informal mock auditions.
Mental Training is the second step in Sharon Sparrow’s triathlon approach to audition preparation. She guides us through why mental training is absolutely essential to playing our best on audition day.
Event Training & Mock Auditions
Event Training & Mock Auditions are the last part of the triathlon approach to audition preparation. Sharon Sparrow walks us through how to gather data and information through mock auditions to inform our preparation.
