Johaness Brahm's Cello Sonata No. 2 in F Major, Op. 99 is a hallmark of romantic chamber music. It was written in 1886 for cellist Robert Hausmann, who had championed his first cello sonata greatly. The cello sonata features 4 movements, and takes the cellist through a myriad of lyrical explorations throughout each movement.
