In this lesson Andrea analyzes Francisco Tarrega’s Prelude No. 1, giving advice on its technical execution and sharing musical ideas to bring into your own interpretation.<br><br>Early in the lesson, Andrea introduces the musical concept of appoggiaturas and demonstrates Tarrega's use of them throughout the piece. He combines this later with an examination of slurs, emphasizing how the two don't always go hand-in-hand.<br><br>In addition to the technical and musical tips, Andrea also shares some interesting insights to Tarrega's technique as seen through the eyes of his contemporaries and students, in particular Emilio Pujol, who gives us a testimony to how Tarrega’s music should be executed and interpreted.
