A-M-I Scale Exercise
Taught by renowned guitarist
Tengyue Zhang
Tengyue (TY) shows you the exercise that he used to dramatically improve his A-M-I scale speed and coordination. While this exercise employs a simple C major scale, TY’s approach allows you to easily transfer the skills gained from this exercise to scales found throughout the classical guitar repertoire.

The lesson itself begins with a full demonstration of the exercise which is followed with a detailed breakdown of the right and left hand fingerings. To help you learn the exercise even faster, download the PDF which shows you fingerings for both hands as well as the string each note is played on.

After sharing the many ways he practices this exercise, TY ends the lesson by playing a few scales from Concierto de Aranjuez and shows how you can take the same ideas learned through the exercise and apply them to “real-life” scales.
