Sara Sant'Ambrogio is a force of nature in the world of cello, known and respected for her many appearances with the world’s most prestigious orchestras, impactful recordings, and collaborations with today’s icons of pop culture.
Sant’Ambrogio studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and at The Juilliard School. She won the all-Juilliard Competition in her very first month as a student, which led to her first performance at New York’s Lincoln Center.
For more than 30 years, Sant'Ambrogio has graced the stage as a soloist with esteemed symphony orchestras from Beijing to Boston and from Budapest to San Francisco. Beyond the classical realm, she has worked with the New York City Ballet and artists as diverse as Sting, Rufus Wainwright, and Yo-Yo Ma. She has won numerous international competitions and a GRAMMY award for Bernstein's "Arias and Barcarolles.”
Sant'Ambrogio is a founding member of the Naumburg Award-winning Eroica Trio, which has performed thousands of concerts worldwide. The trio has made eight acclaimed recordings for Angel EMI Classics Records, earning several GRAMMY nominations in the process.
