The "Sonata in G minor" by Henry Eccles is well known for its contribution originally to the violin sonata repertoire. Eccles, an English composer from the late 17th century, is recognized for his contributions to early Baroque music. The sonata, arranged for cello, takes the performer through 4 movements of enticing cello writing: Largo, Courante (Allegro con spirito), Adagio, and Vivace.
