Based on a Catalan folk song, and arranged by Miguel Llobet, ‘Canco del Lladre’ is about a thief sentenced to death. In the song, the thief talks about his normal childhood and his transition to a life of crime. It’s a sad song, with struggle, but is hopeful at the end. This piece is full of intense lyricism, and requires deep practice to get the desired effect! Thomas spends most of this lesson talking about balance and harmonics, both crucial in pulling off this song.
