Prizewinning violinist Nancy Zhou demonstrates Dounis’ pathways to a well-trained right and left hand, including finger independence, hand position, posture, bowing, and more — enabling violinists of all experience levels to play with greater comfort, finesse, and control.
Nancy Zhou's rising profile in the world of violin is well-deserved, given her trailblazing accomplishments. A graduate of Harvard University, she is the winner of the Shanghai Isaac Stern International Violin Competition, as well as the first-ever Harbin International Music Competition, both in 2018.
After having debuted as a soloist in her hometown symphony — Texas’ San Antonio Symphony — at the age of 13, Zhou has gone on to perform with many notable orchestras, both in the US and abroad. Alongside performing, she has a private online teaching practice in which she emphasizes both fundamental technical skills and a mindfulness-based approach to growth as a musician.
